Rules & Regulations Regarding the Appearance of Grave Sites
- Monuments, markers, stones, etc., shall be of masonry or bronze. Any others need approval by the Catholic Cemetery administration. Pictures that are part of the monument are permitted.
- All monuments, etc., shall be set on foundations of solid concrete of sufficient size and depth for the structure. The foundation must be six inches wider on all sides than the monument base. The foundation must be within two feet of the head end of the grave space for an upright monument. All other markers shall be flush with the ground.
- No shrubs, trees or flowers shall be planted on graves or lots.
- No curbing, platforms, steps, fences, hedges, or other enclosures are allowed. No iron or wire work is allowed and should any structure now on a lot become unsightly or rusty, we reserve the right to remove it. Shepherd’s hooks to hold flower baskets may be used when placed to the side of monuments to avoid interference with maintenance.
- Boxes, sea-shells, toys, cans, balloons, cards, glass items, edging, bricks, patio blocks, landscaping stones, etc., are not allowed on graves, lots, trees, or niche fronts.
- Artificial flowers are a target for vandals and the wind. They can ruin a lawn mower due to wire inside the stems and they fade quickly and become unsightly. If you choose to use them, we ask that you inspect the grave site monthly.
- Picking flowers, wild or cultivated, breaking or injuring any tree, shrub, or plant, and writing upon, defacing or injuring any memorial, fence, or other structure within the Cemetery grounds is prohibited.
- Decorations that interfere with cemetery maintenance will be removed at the discretion of the caretaker. Funeral and floral pieces placed upon the grave after burial will be left a minimum of three days. Columbarium niche flower arrangements are limited to one per niche.
- Dogs are not permitted in any of our Cemeteries. Cemetery grounds are sacred spaces. Thus, dogs on or off leash are not allowed. No one wants to visit the grave of a loved one to find animal waste.
- Vehicles (including bicycles, recreational vehicles or motor cycles) may not be driven across or upon any grave, lot or lawn, nor parked or left thereon, unless necessary for burial or maintenance.
- The speed limit within the cemetery is 15 miles per hour.
